Sandra Yorke

I have been painting watercolors for over 20 years. Most of my paintings reflect my love of nature so I paint a lot of landscapes, animals and flowers. I am so blessed to live in the Pacific Northwest with so much natural beauty around me.

I went to school at Washington State University where I earned a degree in Microbiology and Public Health. I continued my education by taking classes in watercolor, oil and acrylics. I fell in love with watercolor, a very sensitive medium which can produce so many beautiful, amazing effects it just astounds me sometimes. I am continuing my art education by taking workshops and classes in the arts. You can never learn too much!

My paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S. and I have been honored with several awards in local and regional art shows. I recently retired from my 30 year career in public health and am working as a full time artist. I am married and have 2 wonderful adult children who are pursuing creative careers of their own. I recently became a board member of SWWS and also belong to the Battle Ground Art Alliance as well as the Northwest Watercolor Society.
