About The Event

Abstract art offers a unique opportunity to explore the world beyond the obvious, inviting both the artist's and the viewer’s imaginations to flourish. If you’re interested in learning more about this playful and challenging alternative to representational work, come to our June 10 AHA and learn from Port Townsend artist Diane Walker.

A contemplative artist and member of Women Painters of Washington, Diane approaches each canvas as an opportunity to explore what might need to be painted through her at that moment. Striving to achieve a pleasing balance of color, shape, and value, she produces evocative contemporary pieces that reflect both the joy she finds in the natural surroundings of the Pacific Northwest and her concerns about the world around her. Each piece invites viewers into a thoughtful and occasionally whimsical space that might calm the soul or reflect current events, but always inspires the imagination. For a preview of her abstracts, visit http://www.dwalkerarts.net.

While Diane will be working in acrylic, this AHA will be watercolor friendly. So, bring your acrylic and/or watercolor paints, paper, and brushes, and be ready for a fun-filled afternoon.
